WHO WE ARE

Nehemiah’s Vision, Inc. (NEVI) is a non-profit organization committed to the belief that high performing schools are the heart of every stable and thriving community.  High performing schools impacts house values, local commerce, safety and local government resources positively when they produce graduates prepared for post-secondary education or the workforce, but become an economic burden to the community and local government when they do not.

We acknowledge that schools are faced with numerous out-of-school factors that adversely impact student achievement and thus the solutions for improving schools cannot be achieved only within the confines of the school campus.  It takes a concerted effort of all education stakeholders (parents, students, teachers, administrators, clergy, businesses and elected officials) working as partners and committed to fulfilling their role in rebuilding our schools.  That’s why NEVI offers parents of students Pre-K-12 training and support that empowers them to take control of the education outcomes for their children.

Our strategies for building effective parental support are rooted in the Comer process.  We embrace the belief that all decisions must be made in the best interest of the children.  Additionally, we are committed to promoting the idea that when students feel supported and nurtured in school, their outlook, life skills and academic performance will improve.  This support and nurturing begins at home.
