Our Founding Principles
(Village Values)
We have set forth these Village Values as our shared vision and goals that are reflective of our platform. These attributes, otherwise known as our founding principles, help guide our work over time, and are the means by which we articulate what is, and has been, intrinsically important to this organization.
I. Sharing Knowledge
We share, create, stimulate and promote knowledge in the area of education as it relates to parental involvement.
II. Empowerment
We are committed to expending the time and patience required to empower parents and any individual legally responsible for providing a child with an education and effectively articulating his/her academic needs.
III. Education
We believe that educational resources should be accessible freely to all students, regardless of their race, creed, color and geographical location. We believe that a child’s economic status should not be the gauge by which their learning capacity is measured.
IV. Not-for-Profit
We are a not-for-profit organization whose primary objective is to support our mission for non-commercial purposes.
V. No Political Affiliation
We are not attached to any political party. The services we offer are a compilation of ideas shared by people from all kinds of political influences.
VI. Funding
We welcome financial contributions to maintain and improve our services over time. We do not accept funding that would compromise our ability to meet our goals and objectives.
VII. High Quality
We are committed to the belief that quality is our first priority. We strive for excellence, maintaining the understanding that Village Values set a path for others to follow.
VIII. Consensus
We strongly believe “there is wisdom and safety in the counsel of many” and therefore are committed to promoting a collaborative working environment that embraces honesty and respect for other points of view.
IX. Transparency
We believe that everyone benefits from a solid education system. Therefore, we support the transparent sharing of information, and inspire confidentiality by pursuing a comprehensive information policy.
X. Accessibility
We strive to make our services accessible to all parents by identifying and/or implementing educational resources for children.
